What We Teach
Aqidah
MondaysʿAqīdah is the study of the core beliefs every Muslim should understand clearly.
Text: Summary of al-ʿAyn wa al-Athar — Imam ʿAbd al-Bāqī al-Baʿlī al-Ḥanbalī (d. 1071 AH)
Students will study a concise work of Sunni creed that introduces foundational topics such as belief in Allah, His attributes, faith, divine decree, prophethood, and the Hereafter in a structured and accessible way. We will connect the classical study of these topics to modern questions and ideologies such as atheism, materialism, secularism, and relativism.
The goal: Grounded belief, intellectual clarity, and confidence in one's faith.
Sirah
TuesdaysSirah is the study of the life, character, struggles, and mission of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
Text: The Prophet's ﷺ Life in 100 Verses — al-Urjūzah al-Miʾiyyah fī Dhikr Ḥāl Ashraf al-Bariyyah, by Imam Ibn Abī al-ʿIzz al-Ḥanafī (d. 792 AH)
Through the concise verses of this classical poem, students will trace the major events of the Prophet's ﷺ life — from his lineage and birth to the Makkan period, the Hijrah, battles, treaties, and his final years.
The goal: To know the Prophet ﷺ more deeply, understand the events that shaped the early Muslim community, and extract practical lessons in faith, leadership, patience, courage, and character.
Fiqh
WednesdaysFiqh is the study of how Islamic teachings translate into practical rulings for worship and everyday life.
Text: ʿUmdat al-Fiqh — Imam Muwaffaq al-Dīn Ibn Qudāmah (d. 620 AH)
Students will study this concise classical Hanbali text, focusing on the essential rulings and structure of worship. Alongside the text, students will be introduced to foundational fiqh methodology: the categories of legal rulings, conditions and causes, how jurists reason from evidence, and why legitimate differences of opinion arise.
The goal: To worship Allah correctly with knowledge, understand the reasoning behind rulings, and develop a sound framework for approaching Islamic law.
